About the Artist:

စော၀ေ (Saw Wai) is from Myanmar and currently lives, writes poems, and creates art in Buffalo, NY as an artist exiled from his home country. He has won numerous awards for his poetry and art, including from international arts and human rights organizations. Some of his works have been published in Harper’s Magazine (US), Wolf Magazine (UK) and The Best of American Poetry. He has published nine books that included poems, satire and memoirs, one of which is translated to English. He has performed his work all over the world; including in Thailand, Singapore, India, Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, and the US.
