BIFF OFFSCREEN: The Yes Men Mischief Mixtape
Duende
Saturday, October 12 at 7:00 PM, join us at Duende// Silo City for a special presentation with world renowned tactical media artists The Yes Men!
Join Mike and Jeff of media-hacking activist-art group The Yes Men for a live (mis)guided mixtape of recent corporate impersonations: Mushroom Barbies! Awareness Deprivation Pods! AI rebellion! Shepard Fairey’s Greenwash Emoji! Adidas’ catwalk of shame! Crypto bros get woke! Marshmello roast! Plus FREE DRUGS from guilt-numbing pharma startup Dissonex®.
About the Artists:
The Yes Men are a group of culture-jamming activists who practice “laughtivism” to tackle corporations and governments conspiring against the public good. Co-opting the aesthetics of the corporate world to playfully tackle serious issues, they partner with other activist campaigns and organizations to amplify their messaging through subversive media-hacking and social engineering interventions that combine creativity, humor, and surprise to raise the profiles of urgent social issues. Disguised as corporate bigwigs, they’ve crashed conferences, given keynotes, held fake press conferences and appeared on international TV to expose the wrongdoing of the world’s most powerful entities. They’ve been called “The Jonathan Swift of the Jackass generation” by Naomi Klein, and released three award-winning documentaries about their hijinks.
